Dutch to Turkish

Some of my readers have never seen a Dutch medical term before and need to act on one anyway. I translate healthcare content for municipalities, GP practices, and public health institutions across the Netherlands, including leaflets and booklets on vaccines and public health updates, public health surveys, and material on reproductive and gynaecological health.

The reader here is not expected to know any medical terminology. The job is to make genuinely complex information feel approachable, without losing accuracy, for a Turkish-speaking community that needs to be able to act on what they read.

I explain complex terms where needed and keep the language natural and warm throughout, so nothing feels clinical or distant. Cultural nuance matters as much as clarity here, the content needs to feel relevant and respectful to a Turkish-speaking reader specifically, not like a generic translation handed across. My clinical training plays a quiet but constant role, it shapes how I judge what needs explaining and what does not.

This is small-scale work compared to a multinational platform or a published book, but it reaches people directly, often at moments that matter. Getting it right is its own kind of responsibility.
