The readership of a trade publication knows their field inside out. The translation has to meet that standard. 

Milling and Grain is a bimonthly trade magazine for professionals in the milling and agriculture industry. I translated the magazine on an ongoing basis from 2016 to 2022, covering highly technical articles on milling machinery, agriculture, product yield, natural fertilisers and sustainability, as well as company news and industry updates.

The readership is made up of specialists, so accuracy and consistent use of technical terminology are non-negotiable. At the same time, not every article in the magazine is technical. Columns and more conversational pieces call for a different register, one that is natural and readable while still precise. I adjusted accordingly, matching the style and tone of each piece to what it requires.
