The translation and localisation of these materials is not a final formality. It is part of the work itself.
Every organisation in this space has its own established terminology, its own register, and its own standards for consistency across materials that may span years and dozens of documents. A document does not exist in isolation. It sits within a body of work, and it is important that the translation honours that, staying consistent with established terminology, register and the tone the original authors worked to build over time. I localised a UNESCO report on access to quality education, educational equity and inclusive education. The work involved careful localisation of the full report, with close attention to consistency across other UNESCO materials and established terminology. Doctors Without Borders Reports
I translated a Doctors Without Borders report from Spanish into English, covering medical support for marginalised communities and addressing inequalities, access to healthcare and living conditions as documented through detailed field observations.
