Editorial work is where every detail shows.
I have translated four published books into Turkish: two on architecture, one on advertising and one on history and culture, published by Literatur Publishing and the Izmir Chamber of Commerce respectively.
The architecture and advertising books are written for students. The language is clear and informative, terminology is introduced and explained where needed, and the tone is accessible without being simplistic. The text reads naturally and supports the reader's understanding, as a good textbook should.
The book on history and culture is aimed at the general public. No technical terminology, but the same commitment to clear, engaging and informative language.

Book translation is editorial work and it requires a different level of care than shorter format content. Across all four books, my process involves multiple review rounds. The first pass focuses on accuracy and completeness, making sure nothing is missing and the meaning of the original is fully carried across. Subsequent rounds focus on language quality, consistency of terminology and tone throughout the entire text, and the overall reading experience. The final review is a close read of the finished text as a whole, checking that it flows naturally from beginning to end and reads as if it were written in Turkish from the start.
All four books have been published and well received by the academic community.
